Disney+ Now Available on Fire TV

Just say, "Alexa, open Disney Plus"

Over the years, watching Disney movies has been an adventure for me. Growing up I distinctly remember my brother and I asking to rent Lion King for the 3rd weekend in a row, before my dad finally decided it was time to buy it on VHS. Years later, my siblings and I built the most epic collection of DVDs, including a complete set of any Pixar movie ever made and every Star Wars movie. Well, let's just say, times are a changing.

I'm excited to announce that Disney+ is available on Fire TV streaming devices and smart TVs. We are now living in a whole new world — one where I can just walk into our living room and greet my Fire TV Cube with "Alexa, open Disney Plus." Instantly, the TV will turn on and we will have endless entertainment from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and Nat Geo available at our fingertips.

My family and I couldn't be more excited about Disney+ and the reason is, it has something for all of us! My oldest daughter will absolutely choose to start watching Moana for the 100th time, and 15 minutes in she can decide she wants to switch to Cinderella just because. My wife has already stated that The Sound of Music and Princess Bride (both of which she's watched at least 100 times) are required to be in our regular rotation. And I can watch everything from my favorite Pixar movies (Toy Story for the win), to my favorite Star Wars and Marvel movies. I'm looking forward to walking into my living room this weekend and saying "Alexa, watch The Mandalorian," and within seconds, lift off into the new Star Wars TV series. Not to mention how excited my wife is to have our girls watch the live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp. So from my family to yours, happy streaming! Now all you have to do is figure out who gets first choice on Friday night.

Introducing Disney+ on Fire TV
For those of you who have been living in a galaxy far, far away, Disney+ is a new streaming service that is now available on all Fire TV devices and Fire TV Edition smart TVs. Disney+ gives you instant access to your favorite movies and TV shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, The Simpsons, and more. Look out for awesome new Disney+ Originals, including The Mandalorian, live-action Lady and the Tramp, Noelle, Encore! and more. Disney+ will be available on all Fire TV streaming media players, Fire TV Edition smart TVs, and compatible Fire Tablets (Gen 7 and newer). Fire TV customers will be able to sign up for Disney+ right on Fire TV for $6.99/month or $69.99/year (plus tax, where applicable).

Just Ask Alexa
Fire TV is making it easier than ever to search and discover Disney+ content with Alexa. Using the Alexa Voice Remote included with your Fire TV, Fire TV Cube or a paired Echo device, you can open the app by saying "Alexa, open Disney Plus." You can also easily launch specific content exclusively available in Disney+ — just say "Alexa, watch The Mandalorian" or "Alexa, play Lady and The Tramp".

Fire TV's universal search makes it easy to find just about any show or movie you're looking for. Not sure exactly what you want to watch? Try saying something like "Alexa, find Star Wars movies" or "Alexa, search for Pixar movies." Disney+ content will now appear in these searches. You can also use Alexa to play, pause, fast forward or rewind content. So during that scary part of Lion King, you can just say "Alexa, fast forward two minutes".
